Disclosure: I received a gift card from Burlington and a copy of Wendy’s new book to review – no other compensation was given and the opinions below are all mine.
The evening was sponsored by Burlington who very generously sent me a gift card so I could go shopping for a fun new outfit to wear out on the town! I was doubly excited by this because three days after the event was my 20th high school reunion. You know I was DEFINITELY going to want something new for that so I went shopping with an eye towards something that could be used for multiple types of events.
There were several options to choose from, but in the end I chose a form-fitting dress from a well-known American designer in black and white horizontal stripes (I fear not the horizontal stripe!) with a beautiful turquoise belt. At $29 I could afford to then visit the accessory department where I found bangles in the exact shade of turquoise as the belt. Score!
I felt comfortable and beautiful going out on the town in my new dress. The Moms never disappoint and their launch party for Hold Me in Contempt was no exception. It was so fun to catch up with blogging friends while enjoying delicious appetizers and a sparkling cocktail. Wendy Williams was a real treat to listen to. I’ll love her forever for publicly admitting that she loves to read romance novels. Romance readers unite! I was able to start reading the new book while on our trip south for my reunion. Steamy stuff – it makes for excellent vacation reading and I plan on giving you a full review when I finish it!
Before signing off, I’ll let you know that I did wear my new dress to my high school reunion. What a treat! Thanks Burlington for dressing me up for such a lovely event here in NYC and also back home in North Carolina. Finding a dress that can work in all sorts of situations and locations can be difficult, but you made it easy.
