Disclosure: I received the following pieces from Matilda Jane Clothing for review and one gift card to facilitate the giveaway. No other compensation was received. As ALWAYS all opinions are my own.
If you’ve heard of Matilda Jane Clothing, chances are you know their adorable little girls’ clothing. Did you know they also have a women’s line? Me neither! Designer and founder, Denise DeMarchis, began the clothing company in 2005. She created an “unpredictable clothing company” with a focus on girls’ clothes. The company has grown and now includes clothing for women of all ages. The clothes are full of bright colors and pretty embellishments. They’re comfortable, feminine, and fun to wear!
Matilda Jane Clothing sent me two pieces from their latest collection, “It’s a Wonderful Parade”. My sister and I had a lot of fun styling them on my trip back home. First up is the Sugar Plum Park Day Dress. It has a deep purple jersey bodice with a pretty floral chiffon skirt that is lined with jersey. See what I mean about comfortable? My first instinct was to pair it with a cardigan, cause you know…I’m a mom, but my sister told me I was nuts and that it needed a jean jacket for a date night look. We added silver hoop earrings, some chunky silver bangle bracelets, and delicate silver sandals.
Roger said I looked ‘hot’ in this one and he wasn’t talking about temperature so I’m going to say that my sister’s date night styling worked! Good thing I have a jean jacket in my closet back home…
Jack wasn’t sure he liked all this talk of his parents dating…
Next up was the Pippenger Peplum Top. This top is form fitting with a beautiful lace overlay and the most comfortable knit lining. When I went to put this on I was looking for a side zipper because how can something so fitted not have a zipper? The whole thing is stretchy – no zipper! It pulls on over your head and is as comfortable as a t-shirt. Pair it with dark skinnies and silver strappy heels and hit the town. Super easy and so beautiful.
When I first tried this top on, Jack told me I looked like I was wearing “a Princess shirt”. I was trying it on for fit and when I went back to my usual tired t-shirt, the child actually told me he liked the “Princess” top better and I should change back!
