Smarty Pants in Elemental Ts

I was speaking to my sister on the phone today about some planned posts I have and she blurted out, “What? Are you just becoming a fashion blogger?”. Well no because I am me and I usually spend my days on the playground not the runway so that would just be silly.  Admittedly though there has been a bit of a focus on fashion recently, and I’m rolling with it people!

I hereby declare this fashion week on NYCJenny, and since fashion should be for everyone I’m going to share one of Jack’s new favorite shirts from Elemental Ts. I met Elemental Ts a few weeks ago at a fitness event. They graciously sent me home with a t-shirt for Jack. He’s worn it a lot, and even consented to be photographed in it. He POSED in it.

Elemental Ts was founded by two Brooklyn moms. The shirts are designed and then screen-printed by hand right here in New York City. The designs feature highly detailed drawings of animals and objects that have all their different parts labeled in scientific fashion. If you’ve got a little science geek like I do (he can name almost every single part of a space shuttle and will walk you through launch routines like nobody’s business…) these shirts are a fantastic find.  The shirts come packaged with a fact sheet about the object of animal featured and a little magnifying glass to aid further exploration. Jack LOVES that magnifying glass.

Another fun touch? The firefly’s tail glows in the dark. I tried really hard to get a picture of that…you’ll just have to imagine the three-year old’s glee at turning the lights out, sorry.

I love that the entire line is basically gender neutral. I love that they are science based. I love that they are local! If I could change one thing it would be to add a space shuttle to the line…  Just a little selfish wish from me and Mr Smarty Pants Jack  🙂

    • So funny, Monica! I’ve lived in this neighborhood (in a few different apartments)since 1997, we must have been here at the same time during some of that!

It must be a comfy tee – he so rarely likes anything other than his beloved Jets jersey :-/
